Easily explained, it gives the cursor a semitransparent background dot, which you set to larger and a color of your choice. The best solution I found was this third-party tool which is customizable in a great way. You can also (as said) activate "Display pointer trails" which helps, but was imho a bit disrupting. Had the same problem, first help was activating "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key" and remapping one of the tablet's keys with CTRL - at least I didn't have to "draw a line or dot" anymore to find the cursor on my 4k Display (which would else be nearly impossible).
